In our second installment of New Music Africa, a weekly post highlighting some of the best African songs released in the previous week, we feature new songs from Nigerian Ric Hassani, Ghanaian Shatta Wale, and Malian Aya Nakamura and more. This week, the music industry is continuing to come back to life.

In addition to weekly coverage of some of the best songs published on the continent, New Music Africa pledges to find and record even more musical genres that the region has to give the globe.

Ric Hassani – My Only Baby

Ric Hassani, a Grammy-winning singer and songwriter, has just released a new song named ‘My Only Baby.’ In preparation for the release of his third album, he releases the song as his first offering of 2023.

Ric Hassani’s vocal range is accompanied by spiritual chords in the groovy love song ‘My Only Baby.’

DJ Tunez & D3an – International Arrivals Vol. 3 EP

D3an is once more chosen by DJ Tunez for a new project. ‘International Arrivals Vol. 3,’ an extended play, is a collection of amapiano songs with catchy tunes and extraordinary instrumentation.

Aya Nakamura – Baby

Aya Nakamura, a talented Malian-French vocalist, performed a brand-new song titled ‘Baby.’

The performer creates a sound that is like a breath of fresh air by blending the hectic pace and intensity of Afrobeats with the percussive and electronic vibes of Electronic Dance Music.

Tayc – Carry Me

Tayc, a fantastic Cameroonian-French musician, returns with a brand-new song titled ‘Carry Me.’

Tayc wrote the emotional R&B song ‘Carry Me’ to express his innermost feelings, which are reflected in his seductive vocals over the peculiar instrumental.

Pawzz – Koma

Born David Tokuma Dekor in 2002, Pawzz is an afro-fusion star from Benue state who creates his own distinct sound by fusing R&B, Amapiano, Afro-rap, and the groovy percussion sounds of Afrobeats. He also acts as a percussionist, songwriter, rapper, and singer.

His Hitsound-produced upbeat pop debut single, ‘Koma,’ was a collaboration with Freeme Music.
