Prime Video Shares Trailer Of First African Original Movie ‘Gangs Of Lagos’

Gangs of Lagos builds on Prime Video’s commitment to deliver local and authentic African films and series to a global audience.

Prime Video, a global streaming service, announced today that ‘Gangs of Lagos,’ its first African Original film, will premiere on Prime Video on April 7 in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa.

‘Gangs of Lagos,’ from renowned director Jáde Osiberu, is one of the most anticipated films to come out of Nollywood this year, the world’s second-largest film industry.

In addition, Prime Video released character posters and key art for the film, along with a teaser trailer.

In the high-stakes, gritty, and hard-hitting action crime-thriller ‘Gangs of Lagos,‘ a group of childhood friends must all negotiate their own destiny as they grow up in the busy streets and neighborhood of Isale Eko, Lagos.

The extravagant set pieces, action scenes, and interesting dialogue are balanced out by a high-octane pace and an emotionally resonant plot at its heart. Tobi Bakre, Adesua Etomi-Wellington, Chike Osebuka, Chioma Chukwuka, and Iyabo Ojo star in Jáde Osiberu’s film Gangs of Lagos, which he also directed and produced.

Gangs of Lagos builds on Prime Video’s commitment to deliver local and authentic African films and series to a global audience, including an exclusive overall deal with the director and producer of the movie, Jáde Osiberu and her production company Greoh Studios, who recently brought Prime Video customers the top-performing, crime-thriller, Brotherhood.
