Pcee, Sgijja Disciples, Zan’Ten, Justin 99, Mema Percent, and Mr. JazziQ  – Kilimanjaro 

Characterized by an opening cacophony is Pcee’s ‘Kilimanjaro’. Pcee is a South African Disk Jockey famed for hits such as ‘Johnny Ke Johnny’ and ‘Zotata’. In his latest effort, ‘Kilimanjaro‘ the producer assembles a talented team of fellow South African musicians to assist in adding flavor to the Amapiano song.

Harmonize – Single Again 

Tanzanian superstar, Harmonize has been a household name In the Tanzanian music industry for a while now, his latest song ‘Single Again’ is a very catchy blend of South Africa’s  Amapiano and Nigerian Afrobeats. The Tanzanian singer passionately sings about his dysfunctional love life, and how love might not be his forte. The dominant melody of the song is an enthralling hum that easily captivates any listener’s attention. This is one song you should add to your playlist.

   Lojay- Moto

In case you aren’t acquainted with the name, Lekan Osifeso Jnr, he is also known as Lojay, a talented Nigerian act who came to the limelight in 2021 with his smash-hit single, ‘Monalisa’ and has since been crooning in the hearts of Nigerians.  ‘Moto’ by the star was released In February as Valentine’s gift to his supporters. Although relatively new, the beautiful record is posed to be one of the best love songs written by a Nigerian.

Kuami Eugene – Crypto Currency (Feat. Rotimi)

Kuami Eugene’s ‘Crypto Currency’ features American-Nigerian singer, Rotimi. The Afro-pop number is a satire aimed at the slay Queens and so-called high-class babes who seem to attach a price tag to their passionate dispositions, suggesting that love might indeed cost a fortune. The song was produced by Kuami Eugene himself. ‘Currency’ is most definitely one of the best African songs February 2023.

Rema – Holiday 

Rema kick-started his 2023 campaign with a two-in-one track pack; ‘Holiday’ and ‘Reason You’. Both songs were impeccable, however, it was ‘Holiday’ that seemed to resonate with a lot of listeners in the country. On ‘Holiday,’ The mavin signee sings about varying themes.

Ayra Starr – Sability 

 In February, Mavin’s First Lady, Ayra Starr sparked a lot of mixed reactions with the release of her latest single, ‘Sability.’ The song is an interesting follow-up to 2022’s ‘Rush’ and features a heavy vocal and melodic sample from ‘Coupe Bibamba’ by legendary Congolese singer, Awilo Longomba.

Nasty C – Blackout 

Popular rapper, and songwriter, Nasty C dropped his first release of the new year titled  ‘ Blackout’. The two-minute-long hip-hop record was self-produced and was under Licensing to Universal Music. The exceptional record from Nasty C is one of the best African songs February 2023.

AKA – Company (Feat. KDDO)

For the very last time, fans of AKA were thrilled to see a full-length album by the late South African rapper titled ‘Mass Country.’ Off the project, is ‘Company’ which features a guest appearance from Nigerian producer and singer, KDDO. Interestingly, this would be the second time both African artists converge on a song. The first was in 2018 with the smash hit, ‘Fela in Versace.’

 BNXN – Gwagwalada (Feat. Kizz Daniel & Seyi Vibez)

Sarz produced ‘Gwagwalada‘ is a three-peat wonder. It was also released in February and remains one of the best African songs February 2023. The song’s speedy rise to the top spot on Apple music charts is a testament to the chemistry between BNXN, Kizz Daniel, and Seyi Vibez

Innoss B – Kiss (Feat. Zuchu)

Witty, lively, and catchy are some of the adjectives you could use to describe ‘Kiss’ by gifted Tanzanian Singer, Innoss B featuring virtuoso bongo flava singer, Zuchu. The song is mostly sung in Swahili, but as far as musical style and genre go, it is woven around West Africa’s Afrobe
