NSG Unlocks ‘Area Boyz’ Deluxe Album

Afro-swing pioneers NSG, who are still proving they are superstars, released their much-awaited AREA BOYZ Deluxe Album on May 3rd, 2024, along with lead single Spin Da Block, which was produced by Jae5. The album follows up their recent hit song MEN MOUNT.

Always impressive with their charismatic flow and tongue-in-cheek delivery, NSG has become the UK’s frontrunners when it comes to good vibes. The East London six-piece, of Ghanaian and Nigerian descent, continues the momentum from last year’s AREA BOYZ album with a new deluxe version boasting six new tracks with features from the likes of Ghanaian superstar Stonebwoy, Nigerian rapper BlaqBonez and London MC Slim. The new offerings elevate an already acclaimed album, which featured a star-studded line-up including the likes of Aitch, Tion Wayne, Meekz, Steel Banglez Nines, ODUMODUBLVCK amongst others, acting as a standout reminder of the group’s ability to call upon the world’s hottest collaborators and innate skill in crafting some of the most energetic music in the scene right now.

NSG has left an undeniable imprint on the UK’s music landscape since the release of their highly infectious track Options in the latter half of 2018 featuring Tion Wayne, which peaked at #7 on the Official UK Charts and #1 on Spotify’s UK Viral Chart, sparked a viral dance craze, and a subsequent string of infectious releases including OT Bop, Lupita, and Kate Winslet.

Building on their incredible success in 2020, which included the release of the mixtape Roots, which NME described as a project that “lives up to their chart-topping reputation,” becoming the first act to hit #1 on the Official Afrobeats Chart, and winning “Visual of the Year” at the return of the MOBOs, NSG dominated 2021 with the release of their Headliner EP, which featured important collaborations with Mist, Patoranking, and longtime partner JAE5. They also won awards from BILLBOARD, COMPLEX, WONDERLAND and HYPEBEAST, and showstopping performances of their summer smash hit ‘Petite’ at that year’s MOBO Awards.

More recently, in 2023, NSG collaborated with Manchester rapper Meekz on the critically praised single Unruly, as well as with one of London’s most regarded musicians, Rimzee. With the impactful introduction of mainstay The Area Bar in Accra, Ghana, NSG continues to strive to excel in its own lane while pushing forward the Afro-inspired cultural landscape they have passionately pioneered.
