Suplyd, an Egypt-based startup that provides a platform for purchasing from hotels, restaurants, and catering companies (HoReCa), has raised $1.6 million in pre-seed funding from Endure Capital, Seedstars, Camel Ventures, Falak Startups, Outlierz, Plus Ventures, Fort, Alex Angels, and other strategic and angel investors.

Suplyd, a business-to-business platform founded in January of this year, assists food service companies in running their supply chains more efficiently by enabling digital order procurement, payment, and fulfilment.

Restaurants can access a variety of products on demand through its platform, saving them the time and labour required to source things elsewhere. Furthermore, it ensures that businesses receive products at reasonable prices.

Soon, Suplyd plans to use the new capital to scale its technology, expand inside and outside of Cairo, and look into other growth prospects in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) area.

“The supply chain for restaurants is an international concern, and everyone is currently looking for ways to decrease prices and reduce waste. However, the Egyptian market is enormous and neglected, so we will concentrate our efforts there for the upcoming phase before diversifying into other international markets “the company alongside Karim Selima and Ahmed ElMahdy, according to Gohar Said, CEO of Suplyd.

Said, a restaurateur with 12 years of expertise, asserts that Suplyd is bringing an online shopping experience to the restaurant supply chain by maximizing resources.
