Ruger, Tyla, and Nviiri The Storyteller lead our New Music Africa this week. This week, we are thrilled to present to you an exciting selection of the latest and best music releases from Africa.

Our carefully curated list showcases the rich and diverse musical talents of both established and emerging acts, who hail from various countries across the continent and beyond. 

From the infectious beats of Afrobeats to the soulful melodies of Amapiano and the rhythmic grooves of Bongo Flava to the captivating sounds of Afro-pop, our new collection has something for everyone, enjoy.

Ruger, Jugglerz – Bun Bun

Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter, Ruger has been on a touring spree since the year began, performing in various countries from Denmark to Amsterdam. Now taking a break from touring, he ushers back into music-making with the release of his latest single, ‘Bun Bun.’ He features the German music production group, Jugglerz on the record, the music group was also in charge of the music production.

Tyla, Ayra Starr – Girl Next Door 

South African songbird, Tyla collaborates with Nigerian superstar, Ayra Starr on the Amapiano bop titled, ‘Girl Next Door’. Both singers have been indirectly hinting at this collaboration for a while now. The record was produced by Nigerian music producer, P.Prime.

Nviiri The Storyteller, Bien, Bensoul – Nikilewa

It’s an Eastern African affair on ‘Nikilewa’. Kenya’s very own Nviiri The Storyteller, Bien, and Bensoul are impeccable on the beautifully produced heartfelt song.

Mr. Drew – Tomorrow 

Popular Ghanaian hip-life singer, Mr. Drew releases a new single titled ‘Tomorrow’. The record is an upbeat record that passes an important message. Mr. Drew wants listeners to dance away their problems and sorrows by getting lost in the rhythm.

BNXN – Pray 

Popular Nigerian singer, BNXN releases a highly spiritual single titled, Pray. The song was produced by Magicsticks and features background vocals from Nigerian choral group, Kabusa Oriental Choir. An ethereal listen.

Mohammed Saeed – 7 pm 

Fast-rising Egyptian musician, Mohammed Saeed releases a new single titled, ‘7 pm’.  The record was written and produced by Mohammed Saeed.

Rayvanny – Flowers III (Album)

Tanzanian singer and songwriter, Rayvanny sparked excitement amongst fans with the release of his latest Album, ‘Flowers III.’ The album is the third installment of the music franchise. The Bongo Flava artist heavily explores Romance in the nine-track musical project.

Teni – No Days Off 

Popular Nigerian Hit-maker, Teni Makani attempts a comeback with her latest musical effort, ‘No Days Off’. The singer teased fans earlier with several snippets before finally dropping the record on the 12th of May 2023. The record is a hybrid of alternative music and traditional popular music. Music producer, Genio, produced No Days Off.

Inkabi Zezwe, Sjava, Big Zulu –  Khaya Lami 

South Africa’s Inklabi Zezwe releases a brand new single titled ‘Khaya Lami’. The multi-talented performer features frequent collaborators, Sjava and Big Zulu. The trio each brings a different yet unique flavor to the slow-metered jive.

Blaqbonez, Ludacris – Cinderella Girl (Where You Dey)

Nigerian rapper, Blaqbonez scores an impressive feature on his latest single, Cinderella Girl. The rapper enlists Legendary American rapper, Ludacris. Cinderella Girl was produced by Nigerian music producer, Ramoni.
