Tiwa Savage Postpones London Concert Over Health Issues

In a surprising turn of events, the illustrious global superstar Tiwa Savage has regrettably decided to postpone her upcoming OVO Wembley Arena performance, along with the entirety of her November tour dates, due to health concerns that have put her vocal prowess in jeopardy.

This decision comes with a heavy heart for the multiple award-winning artist, particularly in light of what has been a truly triumphant year for her in 2023. Tiwa Savage, graced the stage at King Charles III’s Coronation Concert at the storied Windsor Castle and unleashed a string of chart-topping hits, including ‘Gbese’ featuring Majeeed, ‘NSV’ featuring Bella Shmurda, and ‘Stamina’ featuring Ayra Starr and Young Jonn, shared this unfortunate news with her fans and the music world on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.

The artist’s official press statement, disseminated through her Instagram platform, read: “To my dear Savage Soldiers, I have been fighting off a virus for the past few weeks and was today firmly instructed to be on strict vocal rest for the next few months”.

She continued,

“I will unfortunaetly have to postpone all performances including my first ever headline show in London. I’m heartbroken and devasted but I have to do this to save what’s left of my voice. I’m so sorry . I love you all and promise to be back performing once I’m fully healed”

Tiwa Savage’s headline performance at the OVO Wembley Arena, initially set for November 26th, now stands deferred, a scenario that, had it proceeded as planned, would have marked her as the first female Afrobeats artist to grace the arena’s iconic stage.

In the music landscape, Tiwa Savage’s decision to prioritise her health resonates deeply, as she joins a growing list of artists who have had to momentarily step back due to health-related concerns. Just this year, the illustrious Drake took a hiatus following stomach ailments, and Tems also faced a similar situation in 2022, cancelling a performance due to health issues.

Our hearts go out to Tiwa Savage during this challenging period, and we eagerly await her triumphant return to the spotlight once her health is fully restored.
