The second quarter of the year is already looking bright for African music. African artists are steadily pushing the boundaries and changing the narratives of African music.

The Fifteenth week of the new year saw new and exciting music releases from some of the finest artists in the continent.

Olamide – Trumpet (Feat. Ckay)

Popular Nigerian Rapper and YBNLboss, Olamide treated his fans to a new single titled ‘Trumpet’. The mid-tempo jive also includes self-acclaimed ‘Africa’s favorite Boyfriend, Ckay. The single was produced by genius music producer, Prime. A beautiful song designed for ultra purposes.

Just A Band – echo: dawn (EP)

Legendary Nigerian singer, Wande Coal drops his second single of the year. The Afrobeats score is titled, ‘Let Them Know’. He once again satisfies the thirsty palettes of his ever-growing fan base with this energetic bop.

E.L- Chop Life

Veteran hip-life artiste, E.L makes a formidable return to the Ghanaian music scene after a lengthy hiatus with his new release titled, ‘Chop Life.’ The single is a feel-good record that simply talks about having a swell time devoid of bad energy. The record was produced by E.L himself.

Haifa Wehbe –  Ee’Mel Share

Popular Egyptian singer, Haifa Wehbe delivers a soothing ballad in her newest sonic rendition, ‘Ee’Mel Share’. The eclectic song is a soundtrack for a movie titled, ‘Ramsis Paris’.

Sauti Sol – Tujiangale (EP)

Nigerian singer and songwriter Bad Boy Timz releases a new record titled, ‘I Salute’ which features popular Nigerian rapper, Zlatan Ibile. The song is a catchy bop designed for easy listening.

Ground Up Chale, Alba Bwoy, Kimati- Body Type

Body Type is a new song by Ghanaian singer, and rapper, Ground Up Chale which features Alba Bwoy, and Kimati. The Afrobeats-themed song is an earworm.
