New Music Africa Featuring Elaine, Adekunle Gold, Amaarae, And More

The first quarter of the year 2023 has been met with a plethora of music releases by African artists- at home and in the diaspora.  While some have been mundane, others have notably stood out, giving much-needed life to the quarter.

The impressive rollout isn’t about to reach a decline as every week, music consumers get thrilled by brand new songs from their favorite artists.

The eleventh week of the new year is no different, as the week has seen varieties of new and interesting song releases. 

And these are ten of the best new songs in Africa at the moment.

Tiwa Savage – Stamina (Feat. Ayra Starr & Young Jonn)

Nigerian singers, Adekunle Gold, and Zinoleesky drop a potential party anthem with ‘Party No Dey Stop’. The collaboration is another AG masterclass as he enlists the help of popular producer, Kel-P. Another song for party heads to include in their playlist.

Amaarae – Reckless & Sweet

Popular South African R&B singer, Elaine steps out of her zone and explores lounge/House music on ‘Loving You’ with the help of fellow compatriot, Blxckie. The mid-tempo jam was produced by Isaiah Nkhalo Zuza, under licensing to Columbia records.

Crayon – Chop Life (Feat. Yaba Buluku Boyz)

‘Philo(remix)’ by Bella shmurda is another collaborative effort between Naija and Mzansi. Following his recent drop, ‘Ara’, Bella surprisingly dropped the remix to his hit single, which features gifted South African Rapper, Nasty C. 

Jaido P – One of A Kind (Feat. Fireboy DML)

Ricky Tyler’s ‘Sunday Drive’ takes things down a notch, exploring the ambiance of funk and rhythm and blues. The South African singer sings passionately alongside, Talented Kwazulu natal indigene, Tella man.  The record was produced by PlxyGrnd.

Chike – Spell Remix (Feat. Oxlade)

Talented Nigerian singers, Chike and Oxlade compliment each other on the remix of the former’s soft ballad, ‘Spell’. The record was produced by Deeyaso.
