Eyone Secures $1 Million To Expand Digital Health Services Across West Africa

Eyone, a Senegal-based digital health startup, has successfully raised $1 million in funding to scale its innovative healthcare solutions across West Africa. The funding round was spearheaded by Sonatel, one of the region’s leading telecom companies, through its investment fund, Véhicule d’Investissement et de Financing (VIF), which contributed $855,000. The initiative also received a significant boost with $145,000 from BICIS, a major Senegalese bank, reflecting a growing institutional confidence in health-tech innovations within the region.

Founded eight years ago, Eyone specialises in bridging critical healthcare gaps through digital solutions tailored to Africa’s unique challenges. Its platform integrates telemedicine, electronic health records (EHRs), and seamless patient-doctor connectivity, offering a comprehensive approach to healthcare delivery.

The newly secured funds will be channelled into expanding Eyone’s reach to underserved communities across West Africa. Key investment areas include enhancing technology infrastructure, forging local partnerships, and promoting digital health education to ensure widespread adoption and effectiveness.

Eyone’s successful funding round is emblematic of the broader momentum within Africa’s health-tech sector. Earlier this year, Nigeria’s MDaaS Global raised $3 million in pre-Series A funding to scale its diagnostic and primary healthcare network, while Kenya’s Ilara Health secured $4.2 million in pre-Series A funding to advance diagnostic solutions in February. These milestones highlight the increasing investor confidence in technology-driven healthcare across the continent.

Despite the optimism, Africa’s health-tech landscape faces persistent challenges, including limited infrastructure, regulatory complexities, and digital literacy barriers. However, the sector’s resilience and consistent capital influx underline its transformative potential.

Eyone’s ambitious expansion plans align with the growing adoption of digital health solutions across Africa, aiming to improve access, affordability, and quality of care. By leveraging technology, Eyone is poised to play a pivotal role in enhancing healthcare delivery for millions in West Africa.

This development reaffirms the promise of Africa’s health-tech sector, showcasing its capacity for innovation and its pivotal role in addressing critical healthcare needs across the continent.
