Warner Music Group Finalizes Full Acquisition Of Africori

Warner Music Group (WMG) has officially completed its acquisition of Africori, a leading African digital music distribution, rights management, and label services company. This move follows Warner’s majority stake purchase in the company in 2022.

Africori will continue to operate as a standalone entity, with CEO Yoel Kenan remaining in his role and reporting to Temi Adeniji, managing director of Warner Music Africa. The company currently represents over 7,000 artists, including notable names such as Kelvin Momo, Master KG, Nkosazana Daughter, Oscar Mbo, and TitoM and Yuppe.

Kenan expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, “We’ve had an incredibly successful few years partnering with Temi Adeniji and Warner Music. From the beginning of the venture, our shared vision of connecting African music with fans from across the world was evident. The Africori team looks forward to working with the entire Warner Music family as we discover, develop, and upstream the next generation of talent from across the continent.”

Adeniji echoed the significance of the deal, describing it as a “landmark moment” for Warner Music’s expansion in Africa. She highlighted the synergy between the two companies, emphasizing how Warner’s investment has fueled growth for African artists. “We’ve upstreamed Africori artists and plugged them into our global network, delivering international remixes and trend-driven cross-collaborations that have helped elevate their careers,” she said.

Warner Music’s full acquisition of Africori reinforces its commitment to expanding its footprint in Africa, a market that continues to gain global recognition for its rich musical talent and cultural influence.
