The 2024 VGMA full list of nominees is here! On Saturday, March 18, 2023, the distinguished Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) 24th edition candidates were unveiled in a stunning display of musical prowess and excitement at the esteemed Accra International Conference Centre.
The grand unveiling, which was hosted by the prestigious organisers CharterHouse, featured the best of Ghanaian music in some categories, including the highly sought-after “Record of the Year,” “New Artiste of the Year,” “Album of the Year,” “Vodafone Most Popular Song,” and the ultimate honour, “Artiste of the Year.”
The ‘Artiste of the Year’ award is the highest honour given to the artist or artists that CharterHouse, the VGMA Board, and the passionate public believe to have the most audience appeal, radio resonance, internet streaming domination, and overall popularity.
Within the fiercely competitive ‘Artiste of the Year’ category this year, eight strong candidates are prepared to take the top spot. Among them, Joe Mettle and Piesie Esther, two gospel virtuosos, grace the battlefield with their divine presence. However, a group of prominent secular figures fiercely oppose their spiritual harmonies. Sarkodie, Black Sherif, KiDi, King Promise, and Camidoh are among the musical heavyweights battling it out for the championship, lighting up the arena with their inventive rhythms and incredible sound effects.
