According to Africa Fact Zone Aliko Dangote is currently the richest black person on earth and among the world’s list of black billionaires, according to Complex. Listed in Forbes as a black man worth more than $10 billion. He is now worth $11.5 billion.
Born in Kano, Nigeria, Aliko Dangote formed the international industrial company known as The Dangote Group. It is one of the biggest conglomerates on the African continent and the biggest in West Africa. More than 30,000 people work with the organization.
Dangote began his career by managing stores for his grandfather. He started his own company specializing in trading commodities and cement, in 1976. The business was established in 1981 as a trading corporation that imported products like sugar, cement, rice, fish, and other consumer goods for sale in Nigeria.
In the 1990s, the group entered the industrial sector, beginning with textiles before moving on to milling flour, processing salt, and refining sugar by the end of the decade. After that, the business entered the cement industry and quickly expanded throughout other African nations.

In this list of top black billionaires is the third wealthiest black person, Patrice Motsepe the founder and chairman of African Rainbow Minerals. Patrice hails from Pretoria, South Africa and he is worth $2.9 billion. He became a billionaire in 2008, was listed as South Africa’s richest man in 2012 and appeared as the first black African on the Forbes list.
He serves as the President of the Confederation of African Football, non-executive chairman of Harmony Gold, the world’s 12th largest gold mining company, and the deputy chairman of Sanlam.
Motsepe started as a learner in business and mining exposure under his father’s tutelage. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Swaziland and a Law Degree from the University of the Witwatersrand. He is an expert in business and mining law. He founded Future Mining, which provided contract mining services in 1994.
He acquired marginal gold mines; six gold mine shafts for $7.7 million from AngloGold in 1997 during a period of low gold prices and favourable financing circumstances. An establishment now called African Rainbow Minerals. African Rainbow Minerals deals in gold, ferrous metals, base metals, and platinum.
