Makemation
Africa’s cinematic landscape is about to witness a seismic shift with Makemation, the continent’s first feature film themed on artificial intelligence, set to premiere in Lagos, Nigeria, this Easter on April 18, 2025. This trailblazing production, already a global talking point, has captivated audiences with teaser screenings at the 2024 Global AI Summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, a private viewing at Kenya Innovation Week 2024, and an exclusive showcase at the U.S. Consul General’s residence in Lagos ahead of the Global Inclusivity and AI Africa Conference. Following its Nigerian debut, Makemation will roll out internationally in May 2025 across Africa, the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East, marking a historic moment for Nollywood and African storytelling.
Produced by Rise Interactive Studios and Rise Networks, with distribution helmed by Nile Entertainment’s Moses Babatope, Makemation is a four-quadrant family drama that fuses pop culture, cutting-edge research, and AI into a high-energy, hilarious, and inspiring narrative. This coming-of-age tale follows a young African protagonist leveraging world-class technology to confront the continent’s toughest challenges, delivering a powerful message: Africa’s tomorrow is here, and its youth are at the forefront of the global tech revolution.
